Poor Study Habits

Students with poor study habits means that they have not developed successful habits and may find it challenging to master and understand the content. Some students rely solely on their intellect, developing poor study habits. Here are some examples of poor study habits, a single study strategy that brings monotony and boredom to learning, the student does not engage in their learning but instead uses memorization skills to understand the material.  Other poor study habits include cramming in education, whether for tests, writing assignments, or projects, which sets the students up for fast-release information or not being able to retrieve information in the future. School builds on learning from each year to year and needs to translate skills to continue to be successful.

Poor Organization

Your child cannot perform well in exams without proper executive functioning skills. These skills include time management, good organization of work in folders, meeting assignment deadlines, and asking for help, among other things.  Poor organization skills may also express themselves through poor time management, lack of necessary learning materials, and inability to meet deadlines. Students learning proper organization affects their performance both in and outside school.

Anxiety is a significant contributor to poor performance in school.  According to research, students with low test anxiety perform better in exams than those with high anxiety levels. It is usual for students to experience some level of stress during testing.
